One of Feeding Many’s churches, Southern Gables, has gardens that will produce food for families who plant them, but also donations to the SG Food bank at the church.
In a wonderful turn of events, 3 local McDonalds restaurants want to start donating to the SG food bank through Feeding Many! We help coordinate pickup drivers to get the food which will be frozen, and get it to the food bank. This includes burgers, as well as other sandwiches. What a treat for families to have a ready-made meal that is easy to prepare!
As we test out this program, more restaurants may be added in the future. But it depends on whether we keep up the delivery so they can get the food to families. Food will need to be picked up on a regular basis so volunteers need to make a commitment to be there each week or find a replacement if they can’t do it.
We’re looking to Southern Gables to find and provide the volunteers first of all since it’s for their food bank. But if needed, we may be looking for additional drivers down the road (pun intended!!)
